Who enters for free?
- Anyone under 18.
- Visitors with a disability, plus one companion.
- Other categories listed by the museum, such as Italian teachers, journalists, EU guides and ICOM members. See the official page for the full list and documents required.
How does the free first Sunday work?
On the first Sunday of each month (“Domenica al Museo”) entry is free, but you still need a ticket, including for children from age 2. Entry is only within the time slot printed on the ticket, with no re-entry. On those days the English Garden, the Vanvitelli and Amelio rooms, the Great Gallery and the Court Theatre are closed, so the visit is shorter.
Where are the ticket offices?
- Piazza Carlo di Borbone: every day except Tuesday, 8:30–18:00.
- Corso Pietro Giannone 5: variable hours, closing between 14:30 and 18:00. This entrance gives access to the park and English Garden only.
Which ticket should I choose?
- First visit, one day: the 18 euro ticket. It covers everything open on a normal day.
- Short on time or on a budget: the 9 euro garden ticket, but you will miss the apartments.
- Late arrival: check the evening apartments ticket, which is valid only after 17:00.
- You want context on the palace: a guided tour. Tickets with priority entry, audio guides and guided tours can be booked through the buttons on this page. Prices start from about 35 euros for priority entry with a digital audio guide, from 38 euros for a skip-the-line ticket with a guided tour, and from 45 euros for another guided-tour option. These are third-party products with their own prices and inclusions, so read the details before booking.
Practical points
Check the opening hours, because last entry for the park is much earlier than for the palace in autumn and winter. Our visit tips cover the cloakroom and closing days, and the getting there guide explains the train. For a full list of the site’s pages go to the main Reggia page, or see the FAQ and the tickets page.
