What to see in the palace

The Reggia di Caserta was designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli for Charles of Bourbon; the foundation stone was laid on 20 January 1752. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
The visit includes the Royal Apartments, the Grand Staircase with its upper Vestibule, the Palatine Chapel (Mass every Sunday from 11:00 to 12:00), the Great Gallery, the Vanvitelli Rooms and the Court Theatre, which in October is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings only.
The park and the English Garden

The Royal Park runs for 3 km in a straight line and covers 100 hectares, with six monumental fountains along the Water Way, including the Fountain of Diana and Actaeon and the Cascade. To save walking, an electric shuttle runs along the Water Way: 3 € round trip, every day from 9:00 until the Park closes.
The English Garden (23 hectares) has a trail past the Lake, the Ruined Temple, the Cryptoporticus, the Bath of Venus, the Pyramid and the Gothic Chapel. Bicycles can only enter from Corso Giannone and are not allowed in the English Garden.
